climate change agenda/d day

i live in an american town where tattoos and unshaven armpits are common, yet still highly socially unacceptable for women. this bothers me slightly. only slightly, because i have given up on seeing society as a whole as anything but beyond open-minded salvation. people i know personally, however, do get my attention with their levels of approval. but what bothers me the most about this fact is that the women with tattoos and unshaven armpits are not comfortable with their own beautiful bodies. obviously, this is a generalization based on mine and my friends' personal experiences, but it seems to be a wide reaching observation. it has become a subconscious requirement between women to talk about our unhappiness with our bodies- for it to be a joke when we see a woman who "should" be more unhappy with their body that we are with ours, and a wake up call when we see a woman who has less reason to be physically self-conscious than we do. this fucked up social norm is creating a vicious cycle of keeping women in unnecessary competition with one another, and perpetuating a high level of emphasis on physical "beauty" among men. are we so unevolved that we cannot just recognize physical beauty with an equal respect as (for lack of a better phrase) inward beauty? so much so that such recognition cannot take place without having a direct effect on our own self confidence? bullshit. and people are writing books about full frontal feminism? when i talk to people about this very obvious situation, a common solution is the need for a sexual revolution. the fucked up, puritan society that spawned the first sexual revolution obviously gave us the impression that, like all things american, cycling in and out of extremes is normal and safe. this must be the reason i can watch mtv and see an abstinence commercial during the real world, with no example or advert for a responsible, sexually active lifestyle. my solution is to get everyone behind a climate change agenda that will cool the earth in such a way that people will no longer wear clothing that shows their body parts, and we can lose our sexuality for all unnecessary purposes. then, we should all become terrorists, keeping over-reproduction under control. geeeeeez, common sense, people.

ok....im over that topic for now. but seriously, this d day anniversary, when shit has hit the fan and france and germany are taking steps backwards politically, i cant help but feel like i am also digressing. obviously, moving to germany seems uncharacteristic of me. i could be working at an aids clinic, studying architecture, handing out FREE hiv medication to brazilian citizens. but i have made a decision, and for once, i am going to commit to something. hopefully, i can count on south american countries to stay raw, and rational, corrupt and dependent on first world countries, however defiantly. i will hold on to optimism that such corruption will keep bureaucratic paper work that i deal with on the daily to a non-existent kind of minimum.

finally, today i realized why it makes sense that presidential candidates have myspace pages. other than obvious youth adverts and polls, it is a perfect example of media misguidance and control. like a candidate running on an education-based platform who deregulates public education, raises interest rates on student loans, and cuts funding for school programs and textbooks, you can make yourself anything. and as long as people fall for it long enough to vote for you on one day, you have a free ticket. because the only people who will stop you are people who will do or have done what you did to get your job. there is no accountability. we are all free to be the assholes we really are.
